The original Mayorga cigars were manufactured by Martin Mayorga and then
made by Nestor Plasencia around 1997 in Nicaragua. The brand of Mayorga
cigar was created by Martin and Carlos Mayorga. They were two brothers
who started off their cigar production company around ten years ago.
Their tobacco growing farms are located inside the town of Esteli, which
a short drive towards north of capitol city of Managua. The farm boasts
of a team of approximately 60 rollers that are capable of producing
approximately 300,000 cigars per month.
The Mayorga cigars are little but solid box-pressed
cigars and have a dark chocolate colored wrapper which is from Costa
Rica. The filler and binder is Nicaraguan, while the whole package is
put together in the town of Esteli.
The cigar starts off with a gush of earthy flavor with
a sharp edge. The smoke turns quite soft, once it settles. In fact it
ends as quite creamy. The flavor profile of the cigar is to some extent
woody, with some hint of charcoal. |
